THE best pizza I ever had was in a little hole-in-the-wall joint in Queens, New York. Sucker was the size of a coffee table, tasted like manna, and was a whole flying ten bucks. The second best was from yet another HITW place on south side of Chicago. They, too, know how to make a pie that will make your tongue so happy that it'll slap your back teeth out.
I grew up on the south side of Chicago, so it grieves me to admit that New York has us beat in the pizza department. But in my experience, it's New York and then the Windy City.

I would say New York first, then Chicago.
Fact is, there's good pizza all over.
Wolfgang Puck put California Pizza on the map in L.A. That changed the industry and people's tastes.

New York City has the best pizza in the world. You find the most tastiest pizza's at the smallest shops and you can get hooked!

Traditionally, it's been NYC and Chicago, but I've had great pizza in San Diego, Miami, Baltimore, etc. I think one of the best was at Tacconelli's in Philadelphia. It's made in a 100 year old brick oven! Thin crust, homemade sauce, fresh mozzarella...Oh, my, it's good!
