Well I am going to be quite honest and say that at your young age (teenage years) it usually is never a good idea to date someone who is more than 3 years older than you. This is merely because there are such radical differences between persons at that age, personality-wise and physically. Now on the otherhand if the woman was 28 and the man was 40, this is different because they are both adults with much worldly experience. So in my humble opinion to someone that is 14 y/o looking to get with someone that is 18/19 y/o, just stay away from that age group. The gap is just far too large to be bridged.

Short answer is 18. For the long answer, you could always ask your mom and dad.
I've been teaching my daughters that if you want to do something that you don't feel like you can't talk to your mom and dad about, then it is something you shouldn't be doing.
In the case of a 14 year old girl, besides the obvious legal issues, which could land an 18 year-old in jail for many years, the big issue is maturity and knowledge of yourself, boys and the world in general. The gap is too huge at your age. You'll be doing a whole lot of growing and changing between now and about age 18.
A 4 year age difference usually isn't a big deal, though, for adults.
I know it's probably not what you want to hear, but hopefully it will save you some heartache and potentially a lot worse. Generally speaking, boys at that age have one thing on their mind. Also, there is a reason that adult/teenager relationships are frowned upon and sexual relations between adults and young teens is against the law!

ok, well it is illegal for 18/19 year old to be with a 14 year old, especially if sex is involved.
But if you both like eachother, 15 year old girl...id say 13 or 14, and for the others the same (2 year differnece the most).
the thing is, when your a teenager, the bigger the age difference, the bigger the difference in maturity. Its easier to have a bigger difference in age when you get older because at least then, the other person you are with is still a grown adult. Teenagers still are trying to find themselves as who they are as a person, and the younger they are, the less compatible i believe they would be with an older girl.
I dont think it should be looked down upon, as long as you are on the same level, and you really like eachother--it shouldnt matter what others say (or at least you shouldnt care).
well, good luck hun! hope this helps.

A lot of it has to do with social and cultural opinion. If you live in say...Mid-west USA, if he wasn't within the same year of your age people might be outraged. However, if you were in Mexico, once you have your quinceañero (fifteenth birthday), it's okay for you to date anyone. In neither case is there a hard fast rule cause every person and family is different. I'm merely pointing out that the answer to your question depends on who you're around.
FYI, before I've finished writing this answer, there have no doubt been about five or six (or more) people who have told you "That's wrong". That's because this is an American site for Yahoo! answers. In American culture it's generally unacceptable for people under 18 to date anyone over 18. I find it a little odd and narrow minded, but that's how it is. If you're going to date someone older than you and you're over 18, it doesn't really matter what people think cause they can't do anything about it. If you're 18 and you're in love with a 50 year old (just using that extreme to make a point, not telling you to date a 50 year old or not to), if he love you, go for it! You're the one that has to live with your decisions, not everybody else. Personally, I think it's good for a young woman to marry someone about eight or nine years older because they will be getting married to a mature man who is established. You're also more likely to find a stable fulfilling relationship with a man who is at least a little older. That's just what I've seen in my experience, and I've come here to tell you about it knowing good and well that some opinionated yahoogoers are going to barrage me with thumbs down. Oh, well, it's not like they're not entitled to their opinions, too.
One thing I don't buy into and wouldn't even if it were my own daughter is that younger guys are safer. A lot of parents freak when their daughter wants to date an older guy because they fear he's experienced and only interested in one thing.
The truth is, younger guys generally have not developed the character to know what they want from a relationship other than what their body is telling them, which is raging with sex hormones at their age. An older guy is at least a little more settled down and has enough maturity to appreciate a girl for more than potentially having sex with her.
Whether my daughter would want to date an older man or someone her age, I would still insist that he keep his interest in a family setting. In other words, not to go off alone with her (I'm referring to out of eye site, not being out of ear shot). If he's not willing to play by the rules, then he probably is only interested in one thing and my daughter would deserve better.

Wait until your 15 and date only the ones who are 15,16.17 for now. You can date guys at your age which is now 14. But any one over 18 is a big no, no unless you are over 18. It is very frown upon and depends where you live it is illegal for 18 and over to date under age people. Your parents would be angry if they found out some guy over 18 dating you. Again, date guys at your age group it is safer. I am sure you daddy will be looking over you shoulder to make sure the guys ain't just using you or treating you wrong.
