Great question! Would have to say the cat would just land on it's feet but very awkwardly as would be flailing around trying to lick the butter off the bread!!

Well, it all depends on what time of butter is on the toast. If it comes from a genouse which has evolved directly from a cat, then the butter would definantly land side down. However, if the butter comes from an animal that is not directly related to a cat, it may, rigth before impact, the cat and taost would suddenly flip into an alternate dimension. But that is just my theory, ive never seen it happen. Why dont you try? I think it would work with goatsmilk butter or even leopard milk butter.

if it's from higher than the 7th floor of the building, the cat would land on it's feet. otherwise the bread would land butter side down.

Assuming you're serious for a moment, think it through. Cat would be heavier than bread, so the cat would come down first. And probably eat the bread.

Who would do such a thing? lol I reckon the cat would still land on its feet coz the bread only lands like that if it falls on the ground.

The cat would win over the inanimate piece of bread.it's just sods law that says the bread will land butter side down.
Now,if you tied to cats together, back to back.......

My cat's that seaky, he'd probably eat the bread on the way down, land on his feet and stroll off purring!...........

Only about the fourth time I've seen this on here.....
The real answer is that they'd spin around at about 18 inches from the floor.....
