vinegar, hot water and time. The vinegar may help with the lice as well, not to mention it takes the residue shampoo out of your hair and makes it really soft.

Oooh---that's bad. First of all, vaseline will not kill lice. All you've done is made your hair disgusting.
You will have to wash your hair a LOT. First 1-2 times, I suggest using dish soap to really cut the grease.
Then 2-3 times with a shampoo for oily hair.
Then you need to go to a pharmacy and get a proper lice treatment.

Wash all bedding etc, combing is the only really effective way of ridding them as lice do become immune to the chemicals in treatments, in the uk we have hedrin which has no chemical in in suffocates and dehydrated them. See if you can get something similar. Also baby oil is brilliant as the lice can't move around they get too slidy so it's easy to get them off, also the oil is kinder to the scalp. It really works! After all that a nice tea tree soak will prevent any more as lice hate tea tree. And it will nourish the hair and scalp too. Nits are hard to get out often combing won't get all of them as they glue themselves to the shaft of the hair. I usually do it by hand which takes aggeees but if it's done often enough it works. The downside of this method is that the Vaseline does not shampoo out of the hair easily -- in fact, it usually takes a week or so to get it all out.
The upside is that it is not toxic, and from all reports, it seems to work.
Washing the hair with dish washing liquid, which has a degreasing agent in it, may help.
Dove Ultra dish washing liquid.

ou need to go to the drug store anad get the right medicine to get rid of the lice , wash your hair wit shampoo before you use it twoo or three times untillit is all out, then use the RID to get rid of the lice the right way. The medicine is the only way to get rid of lice.

Lots of shampoo and hot water. wash rinse repeat- like 15 times. And that won't get rid of your lice.

who told you to put vaseline on your head to get rid of head lice? That won't kill the eggs.....You need to go to Walgreeens and get real head lice treatment....And wash all your beding and clothes that you have come into contact with...

shampoo your hair twice to remove the greasy stuff in your head, havent heard that vaseline can get rid of head lice.
use shampoo w/ kwel,, or other head lice shampoo

the only way vasoline will get rid of head lice is if you put alot on and leave it on over night and it will smother them. but it will not get rid of the eggs.
