It is easier to prevent the falling out of healthy hairs than to regrow hair in follicles that are already dormant. Finasteride (marketed in the U.S. as Propecia) and minoxidil (marketed in the U.S. as Rogaine, and some places as Regaine) have shown some success in partially reversing loss. In a one one-year study of finasteride, evaluation after one year showed five of 21 subjects (23.8%) had two-grade improvement in MNHS grade on a modified Norwood/Hamilton scale and 12 of 21 subjects (57.1%) had one-grade improvement; the others remained at the same grade.[6] However such treatments are generally ineffective at treating extreme cases of hair loss.[7]

No, but taking care of it and using some good products will help it to grow as it should. Hair grows about a 1/2 inch each month if you care for it correctly. Trim your hair at least three times a year taking about 1/2 inch off the ends. Some people don't trim their hair and it still grows, but those people have ends that are very very old and become very "worn" & fragile. But you must clean your hair and scalp on a regular basis, and use either a good deep conditioner or leave-in conditioner. Don't use too many chemicals or too much heat. Eat healthy meals and snacks, or take a daily vitamin. Follow the basic hair care rules and you are guaranteed your 1/2 inch growth each month. Since I looked in the mirror last year and made a personal vow to start respecting and caring for my hair, I have been achieving my 1/2 inch of growth every month.

Brush it thoroughly tiwce or three time a day from root to tip. Also, massaging your scalp also helps as it provides stimulation. One more point, have a trim first and get rid of all the split ends as the poor quality hair at the tip often eat up the vital nutrients you give to your hair (through your diet and hair products you use like conditioner/treatment). None of my suggestions are 'scientifically proven' i don't think (i have not done any research) but my own hair grows rather slowly and these are the methods that i find helpful. hope they are of help to you too.

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin
Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to see results.

1. Apply a generous amount of thick blueberry sauce to it 3x per week before bed.
2. Wrap it in plastic and go to sleep.
3. Rinse in the morning.
The biophosphates in the blueberries is scientifically proven to speed up the hair's cuticle production, causing it to grow twice as fast. Good luck!

You need to trim your hair regularly, not necessarily every six weeks but every two to three months if you want your hair to be long.
Things such as coconut and jojoba oil keep your hair in fantastic condition, as do products which contain lots of essential oils and cocoa butter (take a look around http://www.lush.co.uk for some great products).

Frequent head massage works wonders. By massaging, you are enabling your new growth find their way out through the pores. Hair grows quite fast normally, but needs help sometimes. Try this when washing or simply when relaxing.
