* 1/2 tsp. salt
* 1/4 c. butter
* 1 tsp. vanilla
* 2 qts. popped popcorn
* 1/3 c. light corn syrup
* 1 c. granulated sugar

It's the sweet flavoring that is put on popcorn balls. Homemade popcorn balls are MUCH better than the ones you find in the stores.

It depends on the popcorn ball recipe used. The popcorn is coated with a mixture of yummies, including sugar, corn syrup, butter and vanilla, or some are made with a marshmallow-based coating, similar to that used in rice krispie treats. (my favorite.)
Some make their popcorn balls with a caramel-type coating, equally delicious if it's made by my GrandMa, but otherwise.. so so.

It may or not be something to be concerned about. The one person above me (can't remember at the moment the name they used to post their answer with) gave 3 possible reasons. Same reasons that first came to me. I would make an appointment to see the doctor, tell them what is going on. Maybe it isn't serious - but then I have no knowledge of your medical history or a medical degree. Since you talking about your health, better safe then sorry.

I'm going to have to go with its because of the caramel or whatever one uses to get it to stick together. Just a guess Good luck :)
