You best bet would be to see a health professional immediately but here are a few suggestions as to what it could be.... Please do note that I'm not an expert, though....
You should get the place you live in checked out for mold. Constantly breathing in certain kinds of mold (specifically the extremely toxic Black Mold) can bring on your symptoms. If this is the case then you should vacate the residence immediately (as well as everyone that may also live there), contact the Health Department, and get medical attention because the mold can kill you. Some other symptoms are you might be having trouble breathing or allergy like symptoms. You also might have trouble remembering things.
Another thing to look into is if you have toxic airborne chemicals in the building and are they easily breathable from where you are. You could be breathing these in. If so, remove the items immediately to a safe and secured area.
As far as being a mental illness, your best bet would be to see a professional in the field and have them properly diagnose it.

Maybe your hearing needs checked. It could be that you're not hearing tones exactly right or maybe you have super sharp hearing. Or maybe you really do hear sounds but can't pinpoint them as to where they are or what they are. As far as your eyes go, maybe you have a loose lash when that happens or maybe you catch sight of a teeny weeny bug that's very fast or falling lint or hair or maybe you looked through a heatwave and maybe that scares you because you are a paranoid person. Or maybe someone from the other side is trying to tell you they love you. I know people who were crazy and the voices they heard lasted more than a split second and the images they saw were in full view. I have never heard them describe it as a split second or the corner of their eye. You might not be crazy but you sure do have serious problems that need attention darlin. Please take care of your mind, without it being healthy, life surely is a s hit pile. At least with a healthy mind, you'll know how to get rid of the s hit. :-)

It's time to see an understanding and qualified doctor. Seeing, hearing or smelling things that are not there can be symptoms of things other than mental illness. It's best to get started on this early, rather than to let it continue on, especially if you are frightened
Think about seeing the movie, "A Beautiful Mind" as well. You might find it helpful.
By the way, what you are experiencing is the human condition, intensified. You aren't really abnormal, it's just that things have swung a little further to the left.
Good luck.

Most towns of any size have a mental health clinic. Call them and set up an appointment. You sound as though you could have multiple things going on. Schizophrenics often hear voices and sounds. Paranoid schizophrenics are often plagued with feelings of being persecuted, followed, or that there are conspiracies to harm them. They are often anxious, depressed, and become volatile sometimes. Bi-polar victims go from depressed and sad, withdrawing from everyone, to the manic stage, where they are in a frenzy all the time, and just can't sit still.
See your mental health technician and get some help. Often, with the right medication, you can be living a normal life, not one of fear, depression and anxiety. good luck to you.

I personally don't like the term crazy. Our minds can have difficulties just like the rest of our body's. One can have a chemical imbalance in their brain, and this is not the individuals fault, providing they haven't done drugs. Sounds like you have a couple of significant mental issues, that require immediate attention. Make an appointment with a psychiatrist or psychologist, if this is not possible(they can be very expensive). Then schedule an appointment wit your nearest MHMR facility, the fees are sliding scale or no fee at all. What you have described is not the norm, but we are lucky for in today's society, there is treatment for these type of conditions. If you need to talk I will give you my email address it's ponyexpress_delivery@yahoo.com. Thanks for the opportunity to address your question. And please get some help, no one should have to suffer and be fearful all the time, with so many medications available and the advancement of technology. You Take Care and GET SOME HELP.

A little known article appeared approximely 11 months ago in the publication "Secret Science"(circulation extremely limited -- I happened across a copy in my dentist's waiting room), which hypothesized that a majority of the "mental health" problems in your part of the country could be due to an experiment at a government-financed labratory which went strangely wrong when a pin-hole sized leak was opened in what they'd thought was a hermitically sealed clean room. Dust mites in the outer lab carried the bacteria out the ventilation shafts and into the surrounding countryside, from whence it spread to susceptible members of the population. A number of people, whose symptoms became too noticeable to deny, suddenly and inexplicably disappeared -- in some cases individuals, and in others, entire families. The authors of the article assumed that they had to be permanently removed in order to stop the disease from spreading more widely. The symptoms they described sounded much like yours. At this point, the key to your recovery -- indeed, to your very survival and future well-being -- would be to forego further use of controlled substances, turn yourself in to the local police, and request immediate confinement, up to and including a cessation of the use of yahoo Q and A. I hope this helps.

Calm down for a second. Think about your environment. Is there anything at home, school, or work going on right now that is especially tiring, stressful, or bad/hard to deal with? When you casually think, I would suggest thinking of the happiest and most enjoyable things possible. If you keep having problems, see a doc. They'll get to the bottom of it.

Youre not crazy, but it does sound like youre bipolar. All of those things you mentioned are signs of bipolar or scitzophrenia.
Id talk to a doc about what youre feeling. They have meds that will make you feel alot better and will get rid of those things youre hearing and seeing.
Check into some help, youll be so glad you did. What youre feeling is torture......I know the feeling.
I hope you get to feeling better.

Most everybody sees "something" out of the corner of their eyes. I do also. Don't worry about it. Just accept it as a "freak" things of the eyes.
If you ever get "floaters" you will REALLY go wild. :-)
Good luck. Pops
