The Ritz, Claridges, The Met Bar (in the Metropolitan Hotel - I think it has a restaurant). I've also been to a nice jazz restaurant in Soho called Blues - had a to-die-for meal involving rabbit, which now makes me feel eternally guilty as I have a very cute pet bunny. Also Nobu - Japenese food, sushi bar, very trendy.

My mouth is starting to water... take me instead?! :-)
(Just had to assure my hubby that I was kidding...)

In my opinion, a lot of trendy places in central London eg Nobu, Zuma, Hakkasan etc are full of business people during the week and people on the pull on Thur-Saturday. They are cool of course and serve divine food but to treat your lovely wife, would it be better to go to one that is out of the westend but serves great food with perfect ambience and service? Here are some of my suggestions which you may wish to consider: Chez Bruce, L'Aventure, Blakes. If you prefer to go into town: Le Caprice, Mirabelle, China Tang at the Dorchester. Good luck and your wife will be delighted!!
