I am a sophmore in highschool and there is this one girl that i have always liked, but never got to talk to her until now. We sit next to eachother in homeroom and in english class and are lockers are close together. Over the past few weeks we have talked a lot and gotten to know each other better. She laughs a lot when we talk, sometimes she laughs even when I'm not being funny. I also noticed that when I'm talkin to guys about like video games or football, (I don't think she really cares about either of those things) she will listen to what we are saying. She is one of those girls that live by her music and I do the same, but one thing worries me about this. She is into punk and I am into hip hop.She noticed that I liked Jay-Z and all she could do was giggle at it. I guess she thought that Jay-Z is stupid or something. I was planning to ask her friend who she likes, but I don't know if I should because I don't want our friendship to be different if she dosn't like me.

Well, get to know her better.
Just because the two of you have different taste doesn't mean that you won't be suitable for one another. Besides, Jay-Z has done collabo's with Linkin Park, maybe she likes them?
Really, you should get to know her better. Find out more about her taste in music and in other things too like games, books, and school subjects.
For now, spend more time getting to know who she really is and go from there.

Here's an idea: Tell her you want her to try to understand your music. Just as an experiment, and to give each other's music a chance, how about this - Tell her you want each of you to pick your favorite CD (her favorite punk, your favorite hip-hop) and then trade for a weekend, just so that you can listen to each other's music and see what it's all about. Since music is so important to each of you, you can see if sharing your music together helps to build a relationship between you. You never know. You might get to understand each other better and maybe that'll develop into something. Good luck.

I had this problem last year when I like my best friend. Here's my advice: First explain to her that you're curious about something but you don't want it to change your friendship in any way. Then tell her how you feel about her. Don't ask her friend because it will only become a tangled web of confusion and rumors. (trust me I'm a girl too) Don't be shy about it either, just get right to the point, in the end we girls appreciate that more than anything. Just because we play mind games with guys doesn't mean that we want them to play mind games with us. lol.
-Good luck

Is there a way your friend can ask her without letting on that YOU want to know. He/she can be casual about it. Tell your friend, by all means, do not mention that you asked him/her to do this for you just in case. Also, just because you both have different tastes in music doesn't mean there can't be a relationship. I can't stand my boyfriend's music but we compromise. Friends can evolve into more. If not, friends are forever and I hope you take comfort knowing that if you can't have her as a girlfriend, you can still be forever friends. Good luck!

she probably likes you... she's showing a lot of signs... choices of music doesn't matter at all really... she was probably giggling because she had nothing to say about it... don't ask her friend... do it yourself or rather, ask her to hang out sometime and see how she reacts...
