Was discovered and diagnosed today. Recieved antibiotics for treatment. My question is, do I send her to school tomorrow? Since her pain has subsided, she is in her normal cheery mood, and is acting normally. Is it advisable to send her to school for 2 and a half hours, or is she better off staying home with me for a day?

Any advice or information you provide me with are greatly appreciated. Thank You!

My youngest daughter had alot of ear infections when she was little. so bad that we ended up getting tubes put into her ears. So I know a bit about the subject. Honestly if she is feeling up to school then send her. As long as its not affecting her anymore, and she isn't running a fever. You can also advise the school and have them call you if she starts feeling bad. Usually once they start feeling better they stay that way.

I would keep her home with me. Sometimes when young children have ear infection they can run a fever until it clears up, and although she's feeling better right now, she could start running fever at school which would make her feel bad. Also her ear could start to hurt again. I would be on the safe side and keep her home and baby her tomorrow if I were you!

i think the general rule of thumb is that she has to be on the antibiotics for 24 hours for them to make a difference, so skip tomorrow?

as long as she is in her normal cheery mood and acting normally...i'd see how she is in the morning or just before you send her off to school..if she's fine i'd send her to school...

An ear infection is not contagious. If she is feeling fine and does not have a temp. send her to school.

As long as she isnt running a temp and is feeling ok I dont see anything wrong with sending her. Glad she is feeling better.

If you can I would just keep her home. The more sleep and relaxation you get the faster you heal. She's in kindergarten so she won't miss anything important. Hope your little one is better.
