I think that what you have planned to say, is just fine! I would know what a guy meant if he said that to me. I think it is very sweet. GO FOR IT! If you don't try, the answer is a FOR SURE NO! If you try, then you at least, have a chance!

I would say that based on the fact that you will not see her for 4 months I would recommend not saying anything at this point in time. It could make things awkward between you two and what difference will it make if you find out now rather than when you get back from your break?
I personally don't think it's a fair question to ask when you will not be seeing her for a long time.

I don't think you should just yet. If something does happen over break, she probably won't want to try for another guy to quickly. It's a girl thing. Some of us take time to heal after break-ups. I say, do what you feels right.

It depends how long theyve been together though. If your serious about liking her tell her that you want to make something out of it. She wont just leave her boyfriend if your not. Does she love her boyfriend? If she does let her be happy its not fair to ruin her life.
Dont tell her if you think its going to ruin your friendship.
If someone told me that id definately consider it if I liked the person telling me.
Goodluck!

Go ahead and ask the question for these reasons:
a. You wanna know the answer.
b. If you get embarassed, you have 4 months to recover
c. If nothing else, she will be flattered that someone finds her attractive..Everyone wants to be found attractive...

Well sometimes it's hard to go out with a good friend but you never know she might feel the same way about you. You have to tell her how you feel and see weather she feel the same way about you. There could be some hard feelings for you to.

It stead of wording your question that way, how about: "I'm interested in you, but have been staying back because you have a boyfriend. I just didn't want you to leave on break without knowing that."

Dont say boyfriend just say a guy that is more than your best friend. Then you will get over the fright.

I once had someone ask me a similar question and it made me kinda feel uncomfortable and like " well it kind sounds like you did just ask me out, in fact" . I wouldn't say it that way. Just my opinion though.
