has your time spent on these boards changed or altered you as a person in regards to your faith ?
please note i am not asking if you have changed your beliefs ...
but have you relaxed a little more in life where once you may have been a little held back with fear or whatever it was ?
or has it been the opposite ... where you once quite laid back but now have adopted a stricter lifestlye due to beliefs and things said to you yahoo ?
whatever the case ... if you have changed in any small or big way
i would love to hear it

it has in a way I tend to be less reactive than I used to be. Now when I see people who are really out to just put propaganda out there about my religion I just turn the other way... Why get mad? if I do not even really know these people? LOL. But what makes me laugh now is how many times I see the same questions and how many times I copy and paste my answer... But really I am more calmed Just because NOW I know there are good and bad everywhere is up to you to remind calm and good :)

My beliefs are the result of a long period of time studying theology and religious philosophy.
Yahoo answers has not altered my religious views.
It has made me acutely aware that there are two main groups who have religious arguments here:
- fundamentalist Christians
and
- fundamentalist Atheists.
Most Christians, agnostics, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Wicans, etc here have moderate and well thought out views.
BUT some people from the two groups mentioned above insult and mock people with different beliefs and I think this is just degrading to the rest of us.
I would recommend these fanatics should try to use this site to inform and learn rather than rant, insult and promote agendas.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people here who have given sensible and polite answers to all religious questions.

Definite change for the better, here. Yahoo! Answers has shown me that I can definitely help others to have an easier time dealing with some of their issues, and being connected to others as a supportive friend has helped me to relax inside and realize this gift is part of my makeup and nature. And of course I completely acknowledge my Maker in all of this. I so often feel like a channel for things that I personally would have no way of knowing. I have also seen the effects of my writing on certain people and it has without exception been completely positive and healing. - Chris.

I'm not religious, and I've felt no change at all.
Some of the people on here make me wonder about the Christian faith. They are such idiots, living their whole lives based on a book written 2000 years ago, and quoting whole passages of it to anyone they come into contact with.
We can all love each other without being bible-bashers.

It hasn't altered my faith, but it has helped me to understand different people alittle better. And curiously, I have found it easier to talk about some personal things openly, off-line, after having spent some time talking on-line. And there are some very interesting people here of all faiths.
Hoping the best for you...

My religious views have been established for the last 15 years or so, and it's not exposure to outside views that is going to change them. I came by them from hard experience, cold logic, and careful reading of the bible. I have faith in having made the right choice.

This board has shown me how much more I need to learn. I've been shown where I need to improve in my knowledge needed to help those who ask questions and to defend my faith. I also have had my eyes opened to what really is going on out there!

Not at all. I have faith in Jesus Christ and nothing that anyone can ever say is going to make me change or 'relax' my faith or belief.

If anything it's reinforced my belief that we still have a long way to go with regard to tolerating and respecting others beliefs.
