People can do or say almost anything while sleepwalking, even drive cars and operate machinery. Not very safe, that, I might add! *smiles* Your friend's behavior sounds pretty harmless, though, and perfectly "normal" for a sleepwalker.
Sleepwalking is sometimes a symptom of stress, however, so you might want to see if that might be the case with your friend and, if so, if there's anything you can do to help with that.

my daughter sleep walks, she gets up in the middle of the night and just walks into my room wanting a hug and tells me she loves me and at first i told her to go back to bed because she had school in the morning until i talked to her Doctor and found out she was sleep walking they gave me a vitamin to give her called Melatonin which is a natural sleep aid for her at age 8 she gets 1mg but adults get 5mg and thus she has calmed down on her sleepwalking she still does it but not quite as frequent

Yes...my husband used to sleepwalk all the time when we were first married. He was always looking for a place to pee...he peed in a pair of my shoes once, and one time he did it in the laundry hamper...yes, with clothes in it. The worst though was when I woke up to find him in the kitchen with the oven door open getting ready to pee in the oven...lol. Thank God I caught him in time. He hasn't done it now in probably 15 years...not that I know of at least :)

My exhusband was told by me to fix our crying baby at the time a warm bottle of milk. I was sitting in the rocker with the screaming baby waiting on the bottle. My exhusband walks in with a hotdog fixed all the way for me. We had had hotdogs the night before-he, of course, warmed one up for me. Crazy. We still laugh about it.
