All people shouldn't follow their example if it isn't an example of God's. Priests molesting children has always been around, just as police men, teachers, etc. have molested children. The news is going to report every single case there is when it comes to priests because it is so against their religion, which makes it interesting news. Priests molesting child are still one of the lowest group of molesters when considering all molesters.

it means that as a child someone (an adult mainly or someone generally older) has touched them in a way that is not right, like someone saying they touched my private parts. I was molested as a child, I was 9 and my new step father helped me put on medicine because I had chicken pox and decided to touch further. It went on for years and I told my mom and to this day still says it never happened. It did scar me to this day. I hope all child molesters die a brutal death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It could mean they were raped (usually not). It could mean they were touched in inappropriate ways, or even talked to inappropriately. It could also mean that they are hoping to grab some easy cash by getting in on a class action suit against the Church. It's just amazing how many "recalls of suppressed memories" started occurring once the Church started to make monetary settlements with some claimants to sexual abuse.

When someone says they were molested as a child that generally means someone sexually assaulted them. They were engaged in some type of sexual contact unwillingly.

Touched them inappropriately, especially at their private parts or using their private parts. I guess molesting can also be verbal or by gestures or actions, like flashing, mooning.

I take it as fondled, touched inappropriately. I am not sure if it includes penetration or not.
