There are no such things as ghosts for the Bible tells us that the dead cannot hear, see, or feel anything--"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:10
"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish." Psalm 146:4
Satan and his demons like to scare people. Sometimes they pretend to be people who have died. They may even imitate voices of those who have died. In this way the demons fool many into believing that dead people are alive and can talk with the living. Yes, the demons cause many people to believe in ghosts.
The Bible warns that Satan and his demons are intent on misleading mankind. They take advantage of mankind’s despair and hopelessness to offer attractive, but false, solutions. (2 Corinthians 11:14) Hence, the Bible warning: “In later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons.”—1 Timothy 4:1.
Christians need to listen to what the Bible really teaches about the dead. If they do, then they will not believe in ghosts, but will realize just how powerful Satan is in his quest to deceive us.

I believe they might. I had an experience when I was younger where I woke up one night to a tapping sound outside my window. I got up and went to the window. It was completely dark outside. I saw a squarish, white thing (not quite opaque) bobbing up and down on the concrete slab in the yard. I watched it for a few minutes, then went and got myself a glass of water. I came back into the room, watched the thing from the window for a few more minutes, pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming, then went back to bed listening to the tapping sound. The next morning I went outside On the concrete slab, where the thing had been the night before, was a dead black bird. Completely black. To this day I think what I saw was the bird's spirit trying to leave its body as it died. But I am also open to the possibility it was a dream of some sort or that I saw the bird dying and somehow light was reflecting off its wings. But I can't explain it one way or another with any certainty. It definitely makes me not exclude the possibility.

That is one of many unknowns related to the paranormal. That said, there are so many credible stories related to ghosts that I personally feel there is a good chance they do exist. On the other hand I don't believe in a god .... there is no evidence for god.

My favorite explanation for ghosts is they are the spirit of a person who died under conditions that left them trapped on Earth, and they have to complete some task important to them before being able to move on.

You might want to read about Edgar Cayce and some of his "readings" while in a deep trance ... if nothing else interesting to consider.

yes ghosts exist
but they are not spirit nor are they demons
in fact when it boils down to it .. they really are quite boring lol

they are simply energy left over .. something replaying because its presence was strong in that place in the past
much like you walk into a room and know that there has been an arguement even though everyone is smiling ... that is lingering energy
and if the energy is strong enough it can be seen as well as felt

there are too many sightings of ghosts to deny they exist ... but they are just misunderstood and not as scary as many would imagine

There is so much evidence for their existence that continuing to deny that existence becomes rather desperate. It's like denying that dishwashers exist, even though you're covered in bruises from bumping into the one that's sitting in the corner! I have personally seen them, heard them, smelled them and seen objects pushed over by them. I have seen animals reacting strongly to them (simple visual "tracking" by some animals of something unseen, extreme fear by one other animal in the same room as the others). But it's as well to remember though, that not everything that seems a little odd is definitely caused by something supernatural. You should always investigate and rule out every "normal" possibility first.

No. Our brains are good at pattern recognition. The pattern we've evolved to recognize the best is people. We can see faces and hear voices very easily. We do it so well that we can see them when they aren't there. That's how we see faces in clouds and how we see and hear ghosts.
