A charlie horse can be a symptom for many different things. It can be caused by deficiencies of such things as magnesium or potassium. You can even also get a charlie horse by being struck suddenly.

To get rid of them you are suppose to stretch the mucsle. point your toes straight up. I hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless

You can get charlie horses from a lack of water. Are you taking any medication such as a diuretic? If so , you must drink more fluids. It helps to stand on your tip toes and stretch.

You strain a muscle by over exertion and it cramps. If it's bad, apply ice to contain the swelling and then heat later. If it's just cramping, then put a heating pad on it and rest it.

All I know is that an episode, hurts like hell! I ate bananas and drank alot! I thought my legs were going to drop off. Drink plenty and rest

Muscle problems -over exercising,
...or not enough potassium
...or not enough magnesium.

Low calcium. Since I have been taking calcium supplements, mine have disappeared.
