It's possible. I read somewhere that 20 percent of teens are propositioned sexually on internet chat rooms, etc. When I read further about it, they said many of those propositions were from other teens, not adults.
I teach high school kids, and you would be surprised how few boundaries some of these kids have. Guys think nothing of calling girls derogatory names and then acting offended and just saying they're playing when the girl calls them on it. And how girls wear very revealing clothing and then get offended when guys only think of them as sexual objects.
I wish I knew why their parents are letting them on internet chat rooms as they are or wearing the kind of clothing they do. It's irresponsible!

Because law enforcement agencies have a great need for more personnel, and no money to get more employees, they are already overwhelmed with the number of cases each officer is working on. With such a small number of employees working under cover on the internet to catch pedophiles, each of them probably go to chat sites where sexual interaction between members is common/likely. I don't think they have the time to bother with Yahoo Answers. There's none, or almost none of that kind of interaction here - someone would report you before the dialogue got dangerously risky.

I hope so. Child predators are the very lowest form of scum, and I think any method used to find them should be allowable.
Personally, I beleive that all sexual predators should be placed on an island inhabited solely by sexual predators and should never be given the opportunity to leave. Eventually, they would turn on themselves until they all died of injuries and or disease.

Why not, this is as good a forum as any to catch pedophiles. What cracks me up as that so many are caught at it.

Most probably. I certainly hope so. IMO anyone who doesn't support police doing this are probably paedophiles themselves, or one of them criminal liberties types...

They are just being perverts themselves. They are doing exactly what perverts do. Theyre posing as children.
