Physiologist?? I think you mean psychologist. Yes, I have - for three and a half years. I know how scary it can be and how alone you can feel. Be open about your depression. You want to 'sleep all day'? You are definitely severely depressed and probably in a lot of denial. There's no shame in it. You have to make the most of each session. If you need to go through several psychologists to get the right one then do it. Most people who are depressed have a genetic predisposition to it (mother, father, etc...). There is no 'cure' in therapy. They're not magicians. Life is challenging, conflict happens, all relationships have issues. A really good therapist give you the 'tools' for dealing with these life issues. It really does get better - I promise.

I have gone to therapy for depression and it did help. It will be difficult incorporating your sessions into your life. In theory, what your doctor tells you sounds good and you may think yeah I can do that, when the time comes to do what your doctor told you it just never seems to work out the way it did in your session. It is difficult with depression to get that motivation when it feels like your a salmon swimming up stream. You wanted to know simple techniques to get you through the day. Good news is even though you don't want to face anything or anyone sometimes you are doing it even though it is a battle. Which means you are stronger than you think. On the days you can face people and things are the days you could find out what is different, what makes this day not as bad as the ones where I don't want to get out of bed. On those days, the good ones, find one thing your doctor suggests you do to help yourself, something you think you could accomplish and try it. On your off days allow yourself one day to hide out maybe it will help to ease into feeling better. I do know what it feels like and I use to tell my doctor all the time I am so "tired" of this but I am better now. It took along time but it can get better. Good Luck!

HI, I am sorry you got to go thru that, I have depression too, and it is not fun at all, I feel the same way like you do, like I want to sleep the whole day and do nothing.. I feel apathy to life.

I used to take PROZAC but I didn't want to continue so I quit it.

I haven't seen a psychologist, but my sister went to one and she felt better for a couple of months may be longer but after a while it all came back again..
I guess it all depends on how strong we are and how we can battle this illness. Perhaps finding something interesting to do to keep us awake. like a hobby. Find a person you can talk to and everythime you feel that way, talk about it, you can't keep it inside, it has to come out. that is a way to release the pain inside.

Good luck!!! God bless you!
