Last I heard he was in top 20...why can't he get to the top? Is Vijay fading?

both men work extremely hard at their profession.
Vijay is class from tee to green, not a great putter
Padraig’s swing is a work in progress, and will get better tee to green. On his day has a deadly short game, and when the putter works he’ll score a lot of birdies.
Padraig will make the top10 within the next 12~18 months I’m sure. He has the game to win a major, but with so many fine young players coming thru, I think his chances will be limited.

Maintaining your playing level at where VJ's was requires a constant amount of work and concentration. The concentration alone is wearing. He is taking a breather and may or may not come back. He can if he wants to.

Why Padraig works hard, he loves life too much and does not have the mentality to wrap himself in a golf cocoon for 12 hours a day to maintain a top 10 position. He will have periods of time when he plays brilliantly and may even make the top 10 for a while.
