There are environmental issues to consider, a plasma TV emits much more heat than an LCD. The screen refresh rates for LCD are better than plasma and so is the overall luminance and definition.

However, LCD manufacturers allow themselves a 4% "dead pixel" ratio, and still will sell the device as a new and normal product.

That issue is moot with plasma, they cant have dead pixels.
Ans plasma does has a longer lifespan that LCD usually, although LDCs are imroving every year.

If you plan to stay on top of technology, LCD is the way to go. If not Plasma may be more affordable.

Plasma Tv's are good but if you let it drop or if not properly packaged and shipped it can mess up easily. LCD are also good but you cant touch the screen because it'll leave a permanent mark on the screen as if the picture was washed out. projection is probably you're best bet if you don't know anyone who constantly stands up and walks infront of the television all the time.
