On a saturday I often roller set my hair in the morning and let it air dry during the day if going out in the evening.

However I might need to go to the shops after i have set my hair to say get a pair of tights or food stuff etc, Why do some people make such a fuss of us girls wearing our rollers, I do not want to take them out as it takes me some time to roll up my locks properly in them,

Do it but try to put a scarf over them as it looks less tacky and try to make some effort with the rest of your appearance like wearing nice clothes, shoes and some make up and not sweats and trainers

Goodness - if anyone is offended by hair rollers - I think they need to chill. I don't see how it could be offensive. If it became the style tomorrow - EVERYBODY would do it just to fit in!

Personally, if I was out and I saw you in public, I might look at you a bit longer than normal - but only because very few people use air dry rollers anymore. I would be looking to see if they are the same kind that I used 30 years ago. I would love it. I would feel very nostalgic!

If anybody has the nerve to say anything to you, just ask them what it is about your rollers that bothers them. It will probably be hard for them to tell you without looking ridiculously superficial.

the reason that people make a fuss or big deal about it is because they do not want every woman walking into Wal Mart on a weekend with rollers in her hair. second, it is a tacky thing to do and it gives the people the impression that you do not care unless you actually do not care that you are in public looking like you came from a beauty salon! third, because it is trashy and because many people would rather see someone who shops and is dressed approriate and same with her hair! fourth, because you should not do that no matter what. use a freaking blow dryer to dry your hair if you are in such a hurry or rather wake up earlier and let your hair be 3/4 done air-dried before you take them out! fifth, a person with class and manners-aka the Europeans- do not go to the markets with rollers in their hair, but rather wait until their hair is done and they look chic and sophisticated. and lastly, a person who does that looks like white trash!sorry if i offended you but that is the truth! do your own beauty regimen in your own time, not in the public!

It's up to you but some might think you lack self-respect to allow others to see you like that. Are you sure you can't cover your head in some way so the rollers can't be seen? You wouldn't go out wearing a face pack or similar, so why would rollers be any different?

Adjusting your outfit in public as well as personal grooming is always tacky and considered disrespectful. It is like saying "I want to look good for someone else, but not for you, you guys don't count as human beings worthy my good looks".

Just like adjusting your stockings in public or wearing incomlete outfits, rollers are the same kind of deal. You would't go out in a bra without a shirt. It is just not accepted.

If you have to wear rollers, cover them with a scarf. At least, that shows some respect.

Because it just looks tacky. Why don't you plan your outings before you have to air dry your hair? Then you get a whole time at home to relax and get beautiful. Its like when people wear those PJ flannel bottoms or their slipper out- WHY? it looks like you shop in the poor house- the other day I sat in the nail salon next to a woman in those who had cat hair all over her and reeked of cigs! UGH! That may not be you of course and I'm certainly not saying that! It just seems like, even if your in thongs (flippy shoes) and a nice comfy sweat outfit or running outfit ,you have outside clothes on, the same goes for your hair- its just a classieer thing to do, or at least put a scarf over it- do that?! PS- have fun on your date!

it didn't use to be that way but has been for quite sometime. I used to do it in the 70s and they looked queer at u then. I didn't really care but just make sure u wear a nice scarf tied around them, like turban style, and maybe they won't object as much. Ignore them anyway.

when i was in acting and young my mom used to put my hair up in rollers..i used to have to go to school like that..it wasn't a good thing..to sleep on them, or to go anywhere with them..its really annoying how people think but after my hair came down it was worth it all..i think it is a good thing to take that much time into caring how you look..

People will judge you with hair rollers, with different religions, with heritage..it doesn't matter its about you and what you feel and think..i know i enjoyed the outcome of my hair and it was what mattered....

this isn't any ones business enterprise yet your human being the way you flow out. i don't think of rollers seem undesirable. I somewhat have carried out it and positioned a headscarf on my head. Who ever positioned that be conscious on your door is a moron. They probable flow out in clothing that cause them to seem ridiculous. Who cares what human beings imagine. i comprehend it makes you mad.

Probably because in todays day and age there are curling irons. Rollers went out years ago....if it doesn't bother you then don't let it bother you..people can just get over it.
