It depends on your sample, buy generally anything over a millimeter square sample would have some carbon in it. Microscopic live things live in pond water and they are carbon based, and then thre is animal feces, algea ect. That all gets transported through the water system although the microbes are generally dead from the chlorine.

If it contains carbon dioxide (from fish breathing, etc) then by definition, "YES."
