I think that you should totally go for it, I mean, common, you need to ask these questions to yourself first.
are you single?
do you like someone else? if so, which one would you have more fun w/ or like better?
is your evidence that he likes you 100%?
do you realllllllly like him?
Do you have confidence in each other and your self?
If you answered at least 90% of this and your answers were positive then I say go for it!!!! Ask your self more questions, deal with your heart. It's there for a reason.

Go out with him!
Some cultures require dates with friends. It's not a bad idea.
OR
You could go to the movies with him. See how it goes.
