Only certain financial institutions are prevented from sending money online. Places like Neteller can still transfer money online.

Citizens from the United States can still play online poker at serveral sites.

With the recent passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 by the United State Congress, the "best site" now depends on where you are located, since some sites have sstopped taking new players from the United States (or from specific states in the United States).

If I had to recommend one online poker site that continues to accept all new players regardless of their location, I would say it is Grand Bay Poker: http://www.referspot.com/showadtext.asp?g=0&b=1102&w=2233&s=b

They are currently offering a Buy 30 Get 30 promotion for new players. I've been playing there for some time; the games there are well-run, the customer service is excellent, and they offer all kinds of poker games at all kinds of stakes. And when you just want to play for fun, you can do that too.

If Grand Bay Poker is not to your liking, click the link below that applies to you to find a list of poker sites where you can play for real money.

US players that reside in any of IL, IN, LA, MI, NJ, NV, NY, OR, SD, WA, WI:

US players from all other states:
