Yes and yes.

I wouldn't have answered, except that after reading all of the above responses, I saw no one who answered similarly, yet my answer is true...

Consider:
To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.
-1 Corinthians 9:21-22

Paul does not say, "I became all things to all men so that by all possible means GOD might save some."

Is Paul boasting?

No, he is not. He gave ALL glory where glory was due...that is, all glory to God.

See Philippians 2:13!

However, he understood a mystery and paradox...that is lost today in our weaker proclamation of the truth of the Gospel...

Consider this:
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
-Galatians 2:20

Now, which is it???
Is Paul dead? Does the Holy Spirit (God) live in Paul...and Paul not even exist? Or does Paul still live? Is he a "new creation"?

Indeed, he is a new creation.

Jesus is the ONLY one who saves...for He alone was holy as the Father is holy. He alone is the Perfect sacrifice. No one else is righteous, not a single person. All have fallen short of the glory of God, EXCEPT Jesus...who is God. Only Jesus was able to save anyone, for only the sacrifice He made was acceptable to the Father as payment for our sins. Only He was able to pay that ransom. So it is only Jesus who saves.

Yet, Paul did not say, "I became all things to all men..so that Jesus might save them."

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. But how can they have faith in Him whom they do not know?

It is an amazing truth that we can participate in God's gracious work of salvation! We are His ambassadors! We are the royal priesthood! WE have been entrusted with the Word of Faith, that is the Gospel of the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is OUR job, our duty to proclaim this message of reconciliation to our family, friends, neighbors, and even to the ends of the earth!

See Ezekiel 3:17-21!

Indeed, Jesus saves...God saves.

But, it is also true that WE save souls. We, the Bride of Christ. We are soldiers in battle, and our enemy is not of flesh and blood, and we do not use the weapons of warfare...

But we do fight, and the gates of hell will by no means prevail.

And we do save souls.

Do not neglect so great a truth in false humility (which is pride), but preach the Word in and out of season - for the salvation of your hearers.

Fulfill the prophesy that was written for you in Zechariah 3:10!

Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!

To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!

Amen

I saved someone from a nasty fall. Not sure if I actually saved his life or just saved him from some pain. No soul saving though.

Yes, I was an EMT.

Most peoples souls are just fine. They may lack use and be a little rusty but they don't need saving.

I have never been in a situation to save a life. I am grateful. My soul does not need saving because there is no hell.

Do not know if I have ever helped to save anyone's life -- God would get the glory if I helped. Only God can save our soul. We cry out to Jesus as our Savior. He is merciful and forgiving.

I cannot save a person's soul.

At best, I can point them in a direction so thay they may do so for themselves. The only soul I can honestly save is my own, as i have direct influence over it

yes i saved someone's eternal soul because they were not sure if they wanted to be jewish or christian and i convinced them to be jewish, therefore going with the tanakh's belief (hebrew bible), i saved their soul and they will be able to go to heaven... of course if you believe in christianity then i guess i didn't save his soul and he'll burn in hell for not believing in him. But no one really knows what's right or wrong for sure.
