Historically, Bacchus is the Roman name for the Greek God Dionysos. The sect of Dionysos goes back to at least the 3rd Century bce, and is described in Euripides play "The Bachae" dating from that period. He was sent by Zeus as a savior of mankind, begotten on a Virgin, and you celebrate his festival by the drinking of His blood, wine, and the eating of his flesh, bread. Christians have been worshiping Him that way for centuries, there is nothing new about it.

What is headinistic(sp) behavior?
What are you talking about norms? People have been getting drunk and wasted and partying allover the place for years and years. So what if its more public, is that such a big deal? Are you saying that if we would just keep it in the closet like before it'd be okay? Oh, that's right out of sight and out mind! Its kind of how we like to show off our "average" suburban society to everyone and there are people starving that are hidden away. Just because its more in your face doesn't mean it has gotten any worse. People are just less ashamed than they used to be while they display their hedonistic behavior.

God is only ONE and He's Lord Krishna.
Krishna is the Supreme Person, the Godhead.

Krishna is the speaker of the Bhagavad-gita, recognized throughout the world as one of mankind's greatest books of wisdom. In the Gita, as it is also known, Krishna says repeatedly that He is God Himself, the source of everything.

Arjuna, to whom Krishna is speaking, accepts Krishna's words as true, adding that the greatest spiritual authorities of that time also confirm that Krishna is God. Traditions that follow in the line of these authorities have carried Krishna's teachings down to the present day.

Nothing wrong with a little drink in itself. The problem is a lack of restraint and respect, both in drinking habits and in life in general.

Unfortunately yes. Whatever happened to values or morals? Our society is going to hell in a bucket and some people don't know why. Well, if we took a look at our behavior, we'd know.

Bacchus is the god of wine.

As such, your conception of him is as valid as it was 3,000 years ago.

I do hope not. I don't drink for fear of terrible hangovers...I don't want to be forced to have hangovers.
