Eating protein bars has 2 outcomes.

1. Eating bar, sitting on couch watching 'Pop Idol' will add you a little weight.

2. Eating bar post-excercise will help to gain muscle as the proteins are fed to your torn muscle fibers for re-building.

Advice: Its ok to enjoy yourself, eat one occasionally if you think they taste nice, but hey, so long as your not a big pig you can eat anything so stop calorie counting!

End of amazing facts.

First it depends on the protein bars. Some are high in sugar and some are not. As for what they will do to you, it depends on how you use them. A good protein bar between meals will suppress hunger and help with sugar cravings. Which in turn will help you gain energy to loss or maintain weigh. There is some great protein bars at the site below that taste great. I wish you the best.

Protein bars are higher in calories and protein. Both are to help the body recover after a workout. Some have as high as 320 calories so if the workout doesn't justify the added protein, then you could add weight.
