Ok well over the summer I was a hypochondriac. I made the mistake of reading about depression. At that time I was still more obsessed about my non-mental health, until one day a terrible thought came to me. I imeadiatley thought that I was depressed. After that I actually got depressing thoughts and felt very much trapped. I really had no reason to be feeling that way and that's what puzzles me the most. Sometimes I do snap out of it, but it's like now one part of my mind thinks that I'm going to hurt myself, even though I'm not. It's starting to drive me crazy because now I've become so sensitive to any mean things towards me. I know that I'm not depressed but sometimes I wish that I was so that at least I'd know what I suffer from.

You may have another problem. I would go to the doctor. When you do tell them everything even if you think its nothing. Ask them about OCD. And plz don't read anything about mental disorders at all. That will only make it worse. You need to see a doctor. If you didn't have some kind of a problem you wouldn't have acted this way. And don't worry about what you have and feel embarrassed about it. Its ok no one else has to know. That's Between you and your doctor.
Good Luck!!!!

Go to your doc and speak to them. Only they can help you.
They may have you take a depression test to determine if this is your actual problem. But be honest with him/her, don't be frightened or anything like that. THEY ARE PAID to help you not hurt you.
I took a test and flunked on depression and didn't even think I had it as bad as I did. I also have severe anxiety. He put me on Lexapro and xanax (as needed) and is monitoring me. So , you just don't know till you go.
Good luck

Did you know that doctors in med school are taught to be careful about reading everything and thinking they have it? Otherwise, go see a doc, maybe you are depressed.

you need to distract yourself from the endless stream of negative thoughts - seek advice from professional mental-health care-givers - possibly investigate cognitive behaviour therapy techniques. we all stress about stuff from time to time - try not to focus inward as much. good luck hun - i'm sure it will settle down quickly with help xx

I think you are just too inward looking. get involved with more social activities, charitable works. think and help less fortuante people more, then maybe you won't feel depressed anymore. there are lots of people out there who are in worse shape than you are. seek professional help if you think you need it.

As the previous person said, helping someone else can make you feel better about yourself.
