I would defiantly go get it done by a professional. You need to think that this will scar your nose, or any other body part for that matter(if you pierce it) you need to know exactly what your doing. An ear piercing gun, is specifically that, an ear piercing gun. Speaking from personal experience, with an ear gun, on other parts, it does not work. A nose piercing is different than an earring. It is composed of a curved bar, that goes into the nose, there is no post just sticking out. you need the right equipment. Anyway, don't be a cheep ***, go get it done professionally, you wont regret it, like doing it yourself.

Using the gun is a bad idea. The peircing studs they use just kind of push the cartlidge out of the way and you end up getting a gross little bump that gets infected. Definitely go with the hollow needle.

As a side note, I would suggest having someone experienced do it. I had mine done when I was a kid and you've got to be careful not to poke something in your nose that you don't want to poke (it's a fairly painful piercing). My piercer used a clamp on my nostril to make sure he didn't pierce my septum too. Yeah, it costs a little more, but I've had mine for 8 years now and have never had any problems with it.

Do NOT do it yourself!!! A needle is much better because the gun actually has a kick-back like a regular gun. The gun hurts WAY more than a needle. They make nose rings that are sharp on one side of them, so you can use that to pierce your skin, then just put the back of the nose ring on, and voila!! Good luck!

Because your nose is extremely sensitive and vascular (a lot of blood vessels), not to mention full of nerves, you should go to a reputable piercer (not a beauty shop or the mall - a real piercer). They are well trained and can help minimize the potential for damage to your nose. If you do it yourself or get it done by a less experienced and knowledgeable person, you also run the risk for nerve damage and excessive bleeding or scarring.

My nose was pierced with a gun but unless your mom is trained in body piercing I wouldn't let her touch me. You would be better off going to someone who has training in this. Plus you don't wanna a bad infection which could lead to blood poisoning.

I don't know the answer, but I would recommend sticking a needle in your nose and then crying in pain. Mainly because that is a natural body reaction to a needle going through your body.

U need to be very carefull doing this because your nose has hundreds of nerv ending in it and if u hit one u can actually paralize parts of your face! My bro did it himself and now has a twitch for the rest of his life!
