Oatmeal is nutritious and generally good for you. It has alot of fiber, (it you are not having diarrhea now then don't worry about it), check the package some has a higher Na content, it also has helped lower cholesterol levels, and used with cinnamon helps keep the blood sugar level at a more stable titer. If you like it and don't tire of it keep eating! Not to mention it's cheap and adding butter, or fruits to it make it more appealing. (but also adds calories)

It helped me lose LOTS of weight....The fiber fills you up and satisfies you longer than lots of other foods...I like the "steel cut" oatmeal(also called "irish oatmeal") because it has the most fiber and seems to last the longest. It takes energy for your body to move the fiber, so that means your body is burning extra calories just processing your food....cool!
The fiber doesn't give you diarreah, it just gets your intestinal system moving, which is REALLY good and may help prevent colon cancer..
PS, I lost 44 lbs eating otmeal almost every day and eating healthier.

Your system will compensate for the increase in fiber.
It would depend on the size of the bowl too... are we talking the Rose Bowl, or the Orange Bowl, or your breakfast bowl?

my grandfather is a doctor who is extremely knowledgable and researched in nutrition. He swears by oatmeal, and says everybody should have it for breakfast.
Additionally, you shouldn't be too worried about too much fiber. it's very important to get enough as it helps detox the body.

no, its's good for you..sometimes i even have it for dinner, instead of cooking a big meal. i use a little cinnamon and vanilla on it, with a smidge of milk...Also, if your going to eat oatmeal, get the Whole Oats,( not the "quick oats" or the instant stuff.) The quick oats has had alot of the fiberhull removed. it just tkaes a little longer to cook whole oats.

I will say that 5 times a week is not to much, however, it might get boring. But one good thing, it will help keep your cholesterol in check.
