yes its bad because, skin needs to breathe in order to rejuvenate and, despite how thick it is, vaseline petroleum jelly is a good moisturizer because skin can breathe just fine if you were to use that to keep it moist. dont wash your face often either (2-3 times a week). i dont care what they say, but the more you leave your face alone, you better it will be. also try a face peel to soften the face. there are options.

Well the moisturizers are just like drugs, the more you use,the more you need it.If you use too much you don't let the oil ducts produce the own oil(which is the normal way) so with time they slow down and then you always gonna need more and heavier creams(which is not normal if you dint need it).Just use a very light moisturizer, apply it once a day and let the skin bread a bit!

It is possible to overmoisturize. However if you are using a moisturizer you like, and you are having no problems with it, then I would say continue to use it. If it works for you, even if you don't have technically dry skin, then it works and you should continue.

If you have oily skin, make sure you apply it RIGHT after you cleanse your face. Often, oily skin is oily because they have a lack of moisturization, and so they over-produce oil. The bottom line is, it really doesn't matter what type of moisturizer you use on your skin, as long as your face is dirt-free and oil-free.

to much moisturizing can produce breakouts.
but lotion for dry skin used normally and unexcessively for normal skin is okay

You canactually drownd in your own tissue and you can break out alot. But if you just use like a lotion for extra dr skin I don't see any problem in that unless you use is like 1000 times a day.
