I am a freshmanm right now at school in California. My boyfriend is in a different state and moving to another country next year, to go back home. He is 24 and I am 19. He wants me to go back with him. I told him I would think about it. If I take next year off, will my college take me back? We like eachother a lot, and I want to see if it would last between us. What do i do?!

see if there is a college in the country you are wanting to move to that you can take some classes at while you're there. or maybe your school has a study abroad program? that way you can just transfer back.

I'm pretty sure the school would take you back. I just don't know if it is a good idea. I think it could be a big mistake. If you go away for a year, who knows, you might get used to that situation and you might never finish college.

I think the ages between 20-26 are all about really finding yourself and figuring a lot of things out. I think that is an extremely important part of your life, and as such you have to at times be selfish and look out for yourself more.

You have to ask yourself how much do you love your boyfriend and how much are you willing to sacrifice. Once you figure that out, you will figure out what to do.

From what you described, I think you should stay in college and not go.

There are no guarantees it will work, what will you do if it doesn't work? That will be a whole year wasted! I would say stay in college for the simple fact you are 19. If the relationship is strong enough you could both try a overseas relationship and see how that works. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, you can always have a holiday out there. He is leaving to go abroad meaning he is thinking about his future. Why would he even want you to drop out of college? There is plenty of time for play later, continue with your studies.

Find out if your college offers online courses so that way you can continue your studies. I know University of Maryland have online classes as does Park University. You really should look at the bigger picture though, what would you be doing in that other country? Would be able to get a job? Would you be able to speak the language? What happens if it doesn't work out with your boyfriend while your out there?

If you take a year off from college, it will be harder to go back. Stay in college.

i dont think thats a good idea. not only for the fact that your college may not take you back, but it looks as if you're a "drop out" and not disciplined to finish college. its definitely not a good career move.

because you are a freshman in college I wouldn't advise you to take a year off so soon, I think you should stay in school
