B/C if that doesn't work I will get suspended which is really really wack.

Oh dear
so sorry ,but detention is detention .
if you knew about this am wedding before hand
you could have pleaded your case and may have,
had your detention postponed .

It is a shame you over-slept , this can happen ,

but, to not show at detention, at all ,is asking for big trouble .

I hope it all works out for you

It is not really wack because YOUR responsibilty would have been to get a note from your parents, or have them call the school and see if you could be excused and go another Saturday.
But you did not do that so expect the consequences... what are they supposed to do if you came after the Saturday is over with an excuse? You did not take care of it like you should have. So don't get mad at them, figure out what you can do to handle things better in the future.
And be responsible - you woke up 30 minutes late? Who's fault is that?
Unless you figure out what you are doing wrong for yourself you will keep on doing it.
Step One - stop blaming other people.

Let them know that you would like to reschedule due to a wedding you had to attend and that they may contact your parents.
