I don't know about NY state, but here in PA, if it is a game fish, it may not be sold. Make friends with a walleye fisherman--there should be PLENTY of them around in Lake Placid area. Go to your local fishing supply/bait & tackle store and ask around. Someone will be able to help you and maybe for free.

Hope this helps.

Check the grocery stores in the frozen fish section. If it's not there ask at the meat counter they may know. Watch the date on the package. It does get strong tasting after time.

You should be able to get plenty of them in that area, I would think. I am not particularly a fish eating person but I think I could I could eat my weight in walleye, and I have about caught my weight in them. We caught ours in Lake Of The Woods in Baudette Minnesota, on the Minnesota-Canadian border.(I had to put that in--loved it!)
Now! We have had our local Grocer in Emerald Isle, N.C. to get them from their supplier-- fresh. Also we have had them at Red Lobster in N.C.
If you find a easier way to get them, please let "Hooks"s know. Good Luck !!!!

I would check with a fish market if you have one, & or a grocery outlet that carries assorted fish.
