You over exerted. You were LIFTING!!!! You arm is telling you it needs to rest!!! In lifting, you tear apart muscle fiber, which comes back bigger, stronger...it is a continuous process. Painful. Rewarding, IF you do it right. If you do it wrong, you damage yourself without rebuilding. Get a trainer!!!

This is very normal when you begin curling weights for the first time.
About a year ago I began and noticed this shocking pain in my arm after curling and that is the bone called the ulna where it comes from
When you curl more frequently the pain will end and most likely never come back .

Which part of your arm, the biceps? You may not have warmed up enough and possibly pulled something. Try some Ibuprofen and topical pain relief for muscle pain.( icy-hot, aspercreme). Try to stretch out the muscle a bit, the pain will subside in a couple of days.

You probably tore your muscle. Since it's been a while since you last worked out it will take your muscle longer than someone who works out frequently to heal. Just rest [no more lifting weights]. In a couple days it'll stop hurting.

Do you stretch your arms after you lifted the weights?
Because lactic acid is released when you're using your muscles , also when you bulge your muscles you have to stretch them out again, this way they will not hurt. Stretching is just as important as lifting the weights.

When you curl you are pretty much ripping the muscle. It sounds weird but it is a good thing. Your muscles build themselves back up making themselves stronger. Remember, no pain no gain!

The pain you experience is probably a build up of lactic acid in the joint that comes after the oxygen is used up when you excersise, after rest it will return to normal.
