Why do you think that believing there is no God is a negative thing? (Why do you think athiests are sad because of their belief?) I've known many happy athiests...

Im sure there are happy atheists but not joyful ones. Happy defines being satisfied for a moment. That means your happy for a little while and then that feeling goes away. Joy lasts forever. No matter what is going on in your life whether it be good or bad you are still smiling and loving life. Why dont you ask yourself or any other atheist are you happy everyday? Are you happy every second of every hour? If an atheist answers yes to this question they are lieing to themselves.

that's exactly what I'm talking about. How do you KNOW they are "lying" to themselves?! Jeeze.

*******Please do not put words in my mouth that I have not said. People of all religions and non religions can be happy, is in them. I have ever heard myself say, that you have to believe in God to be happy. As a matter of fact people that believe in God get more tribulations that those that don't. So, my friend, you can believe in whatever you want, I don't feel it is a negative thing. I am very happy that most Athiests are happy. To me everyone inn this earth should be. I just worry about my soul when I die, and that, of course is my responsibility not yours. So never think that I think like the people you speak of, I am my own person, and I think in my head, so that it doesn't bother anyone. But if you ask a question I will certainly give you my opinion. May God Bless you.

They me be happy for the moment. but when they are dying with nothing to believe and not knowing if there is a life after death or some hope of good after wards would make me feel hopeless and sad. I'm sure that question cant be answered until an atheists gets there.

The only thing I have against atheists is that they are always jumping on me for my religion. If I believe in Christ why do you care? But that's why I think atheists are miserable. They are like the old lady who has had her heart broken so many times that she is bitter when someone else gets married. The old lady who says "I'm complete on my own" but has a hole in her heart where the one she loves should be. But I don't do anything to stop an atheist from believing whatever they want.

A person cannot deny the Lord and still live successfully. Mankind was created to acknowledge God and share a relationship with Him. When someone chooses to ignore the truth of His existence or His sovereignty, he or she begins a downward slide. It’s a choice which ends with a hardened heart and eternal separation from a loving Father.

God gives everyone the capacity to understand Him and the free will to choose whether to pursue that knowledge. The truth of His existence is revealed in nature and written into every person’s conscience. However, many people ignore reality because it interferes with their preferred lifestyle. Instead, they chase false philosophies, which are usually mixed with just enough truth to make them believable to the inexperienced.

Any “truth” crafted by man is foolishness. A mind that has rejected the fact of a sovereign Lord cannot see its error. It has slipped from intelligence—an inherent knowledge of God — to willful ignorance. In this state, even when all evidence points to the truth, a person can still convince him- or herself that the opposite is right.

All the denial and atheistic arguments in the world will not change what is real. Jehovah is God. Jesus Christ is His Son. God created you to love, obey, and honor Him. If you resist the truth, you choose a life of darkness and willful ignorance. The choice is yours to make.

I am a Christian and I do not believe you are miserable, in fact I believe that you are the happiest that you will ever be , on the other hand, I believe that I am the most burdoned I will ever be.

IT is not about this bit of time we spend on earth, its about eternity and where we are going to spend it.

I find it amazing so many like to generalize. Do you know every single atheist? Do you know for a fact that all are unhappy? Somehow I don't think you are batting a 1000 on that one.

I'm a happy atheist.

I tried to ask this question a few days ago, but it disapeered before it even made it to the board. I wonder why?
