If you drink poison, you might opt to call the poison control center + dial 911 instead of drinking mass amounts of milk.

Absolutely not. You should call poison control or 911. They'll tell you what to do. More than likely, you'll absolutely need to go to the hospital. There are some poisons that react badly with milk. Do not induce vomiting either because there are many poisons that are worse coming back up than they are going down. Another thing to do is to read the label of the particular poison ingested. Sometimes it tells you what to do.

I hope that helps! :-)

As a health care practitioner.. I always tell my poisoned patients to drink 6 eggs and milk as first aid and to slow down the poisoning effect... y?

Milk and eggs are rich in protein... When they enter the warm acidic stomach, proteins become denatured... You know what fried eggs look like?!.. that's a denatured protein... as you can see... this denatured protein will make gather the poison and make it more solid and cover the poison with denatured protein... so it will take time before the poison can be absorbed by the body.

It depends on the poison. You should definatly call poison control before doing anything. Don't take or drink anything unless they tell you to. Also don't induce vomiting unless told to. Depending on what it is vomiting can cause a lot more damage.

It depends on the poison.

This would make it worse for some poisons, taking a serious case and making it fatal.

Your best bet is to contact 911 or a poison control center.

Not necessarily, some poisons require you to drink water, you need to read the labels. Some poisons require you not to induce vomiting. So always check.

Fiction: Milk is the universal antidote.
Fact: Milk has no special properties that make it the magic antidote. Water is just as effective as milk for diluting poisons.

Fiction: Milk should be used to rinse
