Low self-esteem, feeling unworthy unless being desired by someone else.

People who cheat aren't satisfied by their partner. That's why they do it.

But satisfaction has to be steady. If you're satisfied by your spouse when you're first married, but after five years you take each other for granted, don't work on the relationship, the sex life dies down, you stop respecting each other and working to meet all of the other person's needs, that's most often when infidelity comes in. The person you cheat with does the things your spouse USED to do.

Also, it could be that you're not satisfied with your life in general. Say you have a woman who has had four kids and been in a steady relationship for 20 years. All of a sudden, she can realize that she's in a life that is really lacking in mystery, fun, spontenaity (spelling issue here?), and excitement. Having an affair would (at least at first) give her a sense of that excitement she's traded in for soccer games and minivans. This is basically the same thing as mid-life crisis.

because in this world of dating people are trained to move from partner to partner instead of sticking with one person. They are afraid of comitment because they have been hurt too many times in the past and they cant controll their selves because this society is all about going on "natural" impulses. and any time some one sees some one of the oposite sex they get an impulse that some don't know how to control. Its not neccesarily that they keep looking, its that some thing crosses their path and they think with their body instead of their mind.

when a person cheats, a lot of the time it has nothing to do with the person they are with. when there was a survey done with married men who had wives that did everything for them and waited on them and and foot, they were asked if given the oppertunity would they cheat even thought they were throughly sastified with the one they were with, and a lot of them men 85% said yes they would, but it would have nothing to do with their partners. being fathful is about being able to control yourself and having the willpower to say no. in todays society, there are a lot of people who cheat and there is a lot of people saying that its human nature, and should be accepted as a way of life. I dont beleive this. a person could stay faithful if they wanted to, they would just have to learn to say no and not give in to temptation. but overall, a lot of the time someone cheats it has nothing to do with who they are with.

People cheat because they are not satisfied with themselves. Cheating in most cases has much less to do with the person being cheated on then the cheaters themselves. Cheaters may tell themselves otherwise but they are insecure, they are trying to validate themselves by their conquests. Your quailties are not at issue, look at Cristie Brinkley!!!

The fact of cheating, their partner, is a lack of identification of our self, who we are ?, were are we going?, Who is leading our selves,in this life,if it is God, we immediately, realize the fact of cheating our partner, is irresponsible and our believes would stop us , (respect to God). It is an interior condition, (spiritual), as happens with all the acts of man, they are spiritual of guided by the flesh, which has to be conquered. Man is conformed, by soul, flesh, and the Holly Spirit, if you have already received him , would make your acts to be in harmony with Gods will, and respect with the other (partner) who is also a creature of God, and you have trusted him. By marring .

Well Bouncey, if that is the case then I wonder also. Men have the capacity to take care of many women as you know. And our nature is to reproduce, and we are stimulated by visual as well as mental stimuli. And really, life is not fair and it shouldn't fall upon the woman to "keep her man happy", but reality is that if your man is out of bullets, he's not likely to be shooting anyone.

Some people are addicted to sex. Then, others will take all of the love and attention they can get, because they are addicted to that, too.
