how bout just sayin your to lazy to give a crap to your studies or your education. And you would rather just be out on the streets in your adult life because you wont be able to get a job to make a good living...

Any number of excuses could work.

Something along the lines of...

1) You weren't feeling well and had to go to the doctor's office (a note may be required for this, but a little letterhead work makes a fine fake).

2) You couldn't get a ride to school to serve detention. They don't know whether you drive or not so this is perfectly plausible.

3) You didn't sleep at your home the previous night and had no way to get to school until it was too late.

Or you could throw yourself at their mercy and explain the situation. Being late has happened to everyone on the planet at least once in their lives. Maybe you could even get your parents involved if they try to smack you with a heavier punishment. You'd be surprised how much school administrators back down when parents get involved.

If you don't want to get suspended, you'd better shape up and get some responsibility, such as setting your alarm clock so you can wake up on time. There are no excuses for being irresponsible. About all you can do is fess up. Tell whoever you need to tell that you overslept, and that you're sincerely sorry, and that it absolutely won't happen again. And make sure you keep that promise.

What are you being detained for? Again, it must be because of irresponsible behavior. You're eventually going to have to either shape up, or bear the consequences. Life is not kind to people who can't take charge of theirs.

You can say that there has been a death in the family, but your parents will have to corroborate that...plus karma could kick your butt and somebody in your family really will die. That would suck a lot more than getting suspended for a few days.

Get a new alarm clock, and have a friend call you to make sure you are awake in the morning. Stop being late!

Tell the truth and assume the responsibility for your actions. If your school Admin. has any desire to trust you then you need to take the first step by owning up to your problem.

You also need to make a much better effort to get up on time. Being on time is a life long need because bosses and social friends will grow tired quickly of your inability to be on time.

you had to go to the hospital

you had some appointment (fake a slip of somesort)

put a cast on your arm (if you have some at home or get the stretchy material and tie it on your arm) pretend theres something wrong

if your parents are driving you this isnt a good idea

tell them no one could drive you your mom was away or was busy dong **** so yeah...

I cant think of more but If I do Ill add them!

You could say there were some complications at home?

tell the truth, and make an effort to do better. and for goodness sakes, don't tell them someone died. that can be checked out easily.
