In the US, you can look up the state medical board in which you live, using the internet. A simple google search for "xxx state medical board" will find it for you.

A state medical board will have "doctor finder" or similar choice on the home page. If you go there, and input the name of the physician in question, you will obtain rudimentary background information including training, licensure, and sometimes information about legal entanglements such as settled or lost malpractice claims, pending medical board actions, etc.

It's public information and it's free... and you can get it right now.

I hope that helps.

You don't say what country that you reside in. Either ask your telephone operator for the # of Medical Board in your city, state or country or look up the the white pages under government, Professional Lic., bureau. You should be able to find out if this doctor has a valid lic. from the state or country where you are from.

This information is public information as they have to give you this data by law. If you find out that the doctor has no Lic., for sure report him/her to your local police and medical board for criminal action to be taken against this doctor.
