No no its not the contacts...i have the same problem...i also have contacts, and my eyes are always blood shot and red. I think its becasue we (i) am not getting enough sleep. 7 hours (as i get or less) is not the full 8-9 your suppose to have. Try using eye drops. They sometimes work for me.
Good luck!

Let me say first that I am going only by what my eyes do. I do not have any medical training.
Do you suffer from allergies? That might be the problem. You might check this site to see if it helps.

Another thought is that if you work a lot at a computer, it can irritate your eyes.

You should have an eye doctor look at your eyes. You could possible have an infection due to the contacts? You don't want any more eye problems than you already have. You don't want to go blind or have more vision problems. Wish you good health.

mine get that way too. less sleep makes for much redder eyes. Are you contacts day & night or disposable? anyways avoid alcohol, cigarette smoke, and long periods on the computer, those are all killers

7 hours isn't always enough, you need at least 8-9. Trust me, it makes a difference.
