Does age have anything to do with it?

I don't think age has anything to do with it. If a guy is going to cheat then he is going to cheat. It has nothing to do with you so don't take it personal. Just move on.

Cause of cheating may vary. It could be an unssatisfied relationship, an egoistic move, a chance to do something different especially if the partner is not willing to explore or simply just pleasure of having sex with different people. Ypunger men wants to explore their sexual abilities by jumping from one bed to another however as men grow older they feel the need to know that they are still attractive. But, there are those who's a sex addict that they feel they are never satisfied. So, in general age does not have anything to do with cheating. It's a personal satisfaction of the couple that would prevent or encourage cheating.

The potential for cheating is about character, not chronological age. If someone betrays an exclusive relationship at the age of 14, they will continue to do so at the age of 44...unless they somehow find a way to change their character. Sometimes, finding "Mr. or Mrs. Right" does just that. But again, it has nothing at all to do with their birthday.

Good question Maria. I think you are on the right track with your thinking. I am 62, and just married a much younger woman. Of course I still fantasize about other women, but cheating on my wife is unthinkable.

The biggest factor here is that as a man gets older, his sexual desires focus on quality rather than quantity. In the past I remember one weekend trip with my gf and she told me later that we did it 4 times that day.

Part of this focus on quality is related to decreased physical activity in general. Unless a man still exercises at the level he did at 20, then his physical ability to make it happen just ain't there. This does not mean to imply in any way that just because there is frost on the roof, there is no fire in the furnace.

As an aside, there was about 3 years when my sexual desire was greatly diminished for reasons I don't know why. Testosterone level was still fine, but just not much desire... As I think about it now, it could be related to not having a steady gf nor someone I was in love with. So perhaps as a man ages, there is more emphasis on love than just the sex.

No. Cheating as nothing to do with age. People usually cheat because they feel that they are missing something physically or emotionally. Cheaters also do not respect or have loyality for the one the one they are cheating on.

What is cheating? If you are casually going out with someone and they date another person, is that cheating? It is not age related, it an individual decision. It works both ways man or woman.

I dont think age has anything to do with it. I think it has something to do with the fact that the 'cheater' is no longer 100% happy in the relationship. If the situation remains unresolved for a long time, chances are, one of the people involved will cheat, unless they discuss their issues.

No... it's not age related.

Not all men cheat, not all women cheat.

Certain people do, and certain people don't.
