I am a true New Yorker, born and raised. I've moved to Toronto for college and travel to New York City every other month. Now, I've got 1 week off from School and work and I am just dying to go to New York. I figure I'm doing nothing here for a week, why not spend time there. The main purpose though of going there is for New York Pizza. I love it! You can't find pizza like that anywhere! I am totally confused, should I go.. just for the pizza? It'll be a $250 slices.. but I'll see my hometown again. I'll base my decision on the collective totals of your answers. Answer yes or no, and if you want, provide a reason. I just NEED to have that pizza. You nkow when your really hungry and you want something to hit that spot.. the perfect spot where your hunger goes "mmhm that's satisfying" lol let me know what I should do guys.. Thanks! ---The Hungry Confused One

If you're that hungry for the stuff then I'd definitely go but NY pizza sucks in my opinion. I've always had Chicago pizza, both thin and thick crust and love both of them. When we first visited Manhattan we were looking forward to NYC pizza so followed the reviews and had the best. It was God awful and worse than anything we've ever had. Assuming it was the restaurant we tried another highly rated place and found it just as disgusting.

So... if you're going there just for the pizza I'd hit Chicago instead and make several visits to Lou Malnatti's for thick crust or Gino's East for thin crust. These two places have the best pizza on earth!

It's no accident that Lou's ships par-baked pizza all over the country. Nothing else can compare.

Let if be known that I DO NOT live in the Chicago area so have no local prejudices.

Well, I would definitely go for a pie from Grimaldi's in Brooklyn or John's. Not that it is any cheaper, and you probably won't believe me, but the best pizza on earth is in New Haven, Connecticut. Super thin crusts, brick oven, and the competition is fierce! Forget the world famous Pepe's pizza on Wooster street, go to "Bar" on Crown street. The service is rude, but the pie is unforgettable.

Ray's Pizza has the best pizza in the city. It's so thick with cheese you have to eat it with a knife and fork. I'm not sure what street it's on, but you can google it. It's awesome, if you want great pizza go there.

Gotta flow with ny. I stay in Phoenix and regrettably not in any respect had the authentic element- yet we've some exceptionally solid ny kind pizza places out right here. Chicago kind is advantageous, yet too a lot for me.

I've been all over the country and New York pizza is no better than anywhere else. It all depends on who is making it and what style you like

NYC Pizza rocks., so if you can afford it, I say "Go"! But make sure you also stop by Gray's Papaya for a hot dog and also get a spinach feta croissant from Hot and Crusty's.

If I could go, I would. And if I wanted pizza, I'd go straight to John's on Bleeker Street. Go for me.
