I read about this group and that group and how they predicted some major event (end of the world, major earthquake, UFOs coming to take home the faithful, etc, etc) for a certain date. Then they're wrong.

Doesn't that invalidate their whole belief system? If you answer "no", why doesn't it??

Prediction is an act of man. Man makes mistakes. Man often misinterprets the Word of God.

So, no, a wrong prediction or interpretation does not necessarily invalidate a particular belief system. No unless the belief system is BASED upon a certain, clearly stated belief that turns out to be false.

The bible makes predictions about the future. If we read that and say..this looks like it will be the end when matthew 5 starts happening. Then it doesn't happen. It's because the light gets brighter as we go along.

The bible wants us to always be ready for the end because the end was going to come as surely as the sun rises in the east.

The bible tells us not to act like they did in Noah's day....eating and drinking and they took no note ( of what was happening around them) until the flood came and swept them all away.

So it will be in the last days.....they will take no note...so do what you can to heed the warnings by staying close to God...follow his sons footsteps when he told us to pray for the kingdom to come
.
The lords prayer says it all.
Pray and keep awake....May God be with you.

Not unless their whole belief system is based upon the wrong prediction. Churches are made up of people who are not perfect, so why should we be surprised when they get it wrong sometimes?

Hoping the best for you...

YES... like those that predicted Christ's return TODAY based on an earthquake and other events a few weeks ago... well, so far anyway.

Christian Revelations predicted the fall of the Roman Empire, but since it didn't go as planned (Christianity became the empire), they had a lot of back-peddling to do. But they managed, and try ot scare us with doom and gloom even today.

I think that it means they're pretty stupid because there is no good reason to stick out your neck like that. Remember, all religious groups are composed of people--you know, those creatures that scratch various body parts, fart, etcetera. They are simply people like us and like us, are fallible. So it doesn't make them wrong altogether, just altogether stupid.
