They're the same as the Ford Galaxy & Seat Alhambra, rubbish vehicle with crap build quality.
I have never seen one that was tidy inside, always got broken cup holders, speaker grilles and other bits of trim falling apart, and they are always dented. They really do seem to age prematurely. The engines good though.

As a range of cars go, they are not bad. Plenty of space, easy run, great towcar if you need it and as for build quality, they are as good as any of them out there. You still pay abit more for the vw badge than the others and you get more kit on the Seat for less money. Problems to look out for are central locking, electric windows, broken trim due to kids etc. Usual checks of regular servicing are needed. Timing belt is due at 60k and needs a full set of belts and pulleys around £300 to do so check to see that it has been done. Suspension links also wear at the front and give arattle when driving on uneven road surfaces. All said, its still a better car than an Espace or a Voyager and for less money too.

Dont know about performance wise but quite a few around here seem to get broken into or stolen.
