Julien Lennon asked his father for advice on writing a song and John Lennon said to keep it simple and under three minutes. Hope that helps cause it comes from a master.

Whenever you feel really strongly about something and/or emotional, write down your feelings and thoughts. Then later (when you're not so strung up), go back and think of interesting ways to make your words sound more like a song. Remember: it doesn't have to rhyme to keep time. :)

well it depends on what kind of life you have had
what types of lyrics you write
what type of music are you into.
Just write from your heart and your experience
put whatever type of music you think sounds the best with it and let it flow
You may be surprised that no matter what you write or how it sounds someone will be able to relate
But please keep it original and real

Write about something that interests you. Use a rhyming dictionary. It makes it a lot easier. Good luck!
