Why the N word?

Question

Now I know black people use the N word freely when ever we want but why do white people feel the need to say ti and why do we get so afended when they do us it and we use ti all the time.

What i am trting to say is why do white people hoe hang around black feel they have the right to say it.

I will tell you why white people use it. White people use it because black people get upset when we do. Bottom line. If blacks didnt care then whites wouldnt use it. Do you ever see a white person getting upset when a black calls them "Honky"? No, it rarely happens. We don't call ourselves "Honky" so its not used that much. Even if someone called me "Honky" I wouldn't care. I would just laugh about it so whats the fun in saying it? This "N" word that you speak of would die out if black people would 1. stop using it theirselves and 2. stop getting upset when a white person calls them that. Its really getting out of hand now. I can say "Honky" all I want on here but if i said the "N" word I would be reported.

I guess because the way they used it in the past. Remember that segregation wasn't that long ago and there was a great need for freedom fighters like Martin Luther King Jr. It was back when our parents were our age or a little bit younger. There was racism and hatred involved when white people said it. And with blacks, its almost like a privilege like " only we can say it and no one else". Since I'm neither, I would suppose that's what it would be. It's like the way I see the confederate flag. Every time I see it, I get disgusted because I know what went on underneath that flag and what kind of people still use it like racist rednecks and kkk members, etc. I guess it relates to the past.

Please do not get offended. But if black people would just stop using the word you would probably see that black people are the only people using the word anymore. Times have changed and white people know that this word is offensive. Over the last several years I have not heard one single white person use the N word unless they are "trying to be black". Maybe someday there will be so many mixed race people and we can just remove the word altogether in our society. Love, Peace, Happiness.

it is because white people used the n word to blacks as a way of meaning that white people were superior(which is not true in my book)like back when there were slaves.

I think you answered your own question. Because it is offensive.

Frankly I don't think anyone should use the word. It is a sign of ignorance to use the word, no matter what color you are.

On the otherhand if no one reacted to the word it would lose its power to offend and fall out of use.

i think white people hear black people say it to each other and then think that it's ok to say it to black people (because, after all, they said it to each other). i mean, i don't say it at all to anyone, but that's sort of my understanding of it. as for why black people say it to each other, i have no idea, i can't answer that.

i think it takes one to know one so if that is the case then we can say it but they cant plus in addition like mom used to say you need to share they've had their turn and now it is ours
