....What Does it Mean to Put God First?
I'm looking for somone who truly knows what it means, and someone that truly does it...

It means to make Him the Lord of your life, to not let yourself or any1 or any thing to be the center or your life. It means to give everything to the Lord and to trust in Him and know He will take care of you. You have to be faithful to Him not only in the good times when its easy, but also in the worst of times when nothing is going your way.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."- Mathew 22:37
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." -Mark 12:30
Unfortunately, no one can do this. For we are all sinners completely helpless in our sin and misery, but our Savior, Jesus Christ, did it for us; He lived a perfect life and died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead to totally atone for sins so that we may be reconciled with God. Jesus' righteousness is accounted onto us. However, we must still try to obey Him we can still put Him as the Lord of our lives with the help of the Holy Spirit, but as sinners we still will stray at times of the path to righteousness.

To put God first means that God is the center of your life. It means that God comes first before anything else in your life. You are always dependent upon God for your basic needs and never worry about what is going to happen to you because God is you focus and He provides everything for His servants.

To put God first means that in everything you do, you consider how it will affect your relationship to your creator.
If you were to consider a job, you would think how it would be seen by God. You wouldn't do it if it was questionable.
If you wanted to get married, you would consider if this person would live a good christian life before you would marry them..
Putting God first means letting God and your bible trained conscience go to work before you did anything.
Also, God wants us to do good works. If we pray, associate with his people and do good to all we are putting God first.
And putting self last.

You have freewill. This means you have the ability to live as you please. Everything comes in spirit form. It is either of God or of Satan. You choose to live for God or for Satan. If you want the good life and you choose to be a Christian you live for God. That means you have chosen to not live under your freewill and you have surrendered to living for God. Christians do not live for what they want, how they want etc. They live under authority. They put God first. This means that they may want to stay in bed if they listened to their own freewill, but since they have chosen to surrender to living for God, they get out of bed and go to church. Therefore, God is first. Another example is getting up and praying for Gods will and direction for your day. Reading the bible and disciplining yourself to do what is good and right. Hope this helps. it means that no matter what to put him ahead of all of your thoughts heres an example: when peter denied christ so he would be spared he put his needs befor christs then later after speaking with god he had relized what he had done wrong then as his life went on he got put in that same position again but this time he put god's needs befor his own and said that he knew him and he died because of it. so basicly do what you think god would want you to do even if it effects you badly.

u surrender ur self to god it means u r 24/7 with god and have only desire to move toward enlightment and love urself this is the key which a pillar to total freedom here i'm not talking about christanity its spirituality which is step higher than christanity

Ask Him every morning to be with you and help you throughout the day.
A friend of mine says she pretends God is a
"real human" -- rides in her car, goes to work, shops @ Wal Mart so she does not offend Him.
Don't do things that you know are wrong. I try to only do what He wants me to do.

I believe it means putting God before yourself, or "dying" to yourself.
Do I always do it? I'm sorry to say that I don't, but I try.

When you love your Lord more than anything else He will reward you. Sometimes we have the conflict with family, and we should seek what God wants us to do.
This is just one example.
