It's fibers that come off your clothes from rubbing against each other in the dryer. If you turn off the dryer just a leeeeetle bit before they're completely dry, you won't have as much lint. The lint comes off in the last little bit of the drying cycle, and it can make your clothes look dull and wear them out faster. Better to let them air-dry a little while and not have so many fibers break off.
