What does it do differently? Can I install it without the Yahoo toolbar (hate those stupid things)? If I install it and don't like it, can I go back to an older version?

By the way, I HAVE firefox. I prefer IE. Please do not suggest getting Firefox as the solution to everything.

It has been streamlined which I like. The tabs feature is fairly basic. It's out of beta now. It's not perfect but it isn't bad. Yes it can be removed if you don't like it. You don't have to install the Yahoo toolbar or any other toolbar for that matter. The IE7 that Yahoo offers is a Yahoo version. Go to Microsoft to get it.

IE7 is where it is at for a Microsoft browser. In fact they will shortly be forcing it as a mandatory update and will discontinue IE6.

IE7 is essentially a mirror image to Firefox. You hear all kinds of rants and raves for IE and for FF from some of the geeks and from those who just want to spout off. I don't find all that much difference between the two.

I primarily use IE for any secure transactions I do on the net such as online banking, bill pay, and purchases. I tend to use FF for a lot of my browsing but I generally do so because I like using both of them.

It's really your choice, but be advised IE6 is a thing of the past and it doesn't really compare to IE7 in regards to functionality and security.

Also, you don't need Yahoo Toolbar on either IE or FF. I agree with you about the toolbar. I think it is a total waste.

There is a lot of flaws in it because it is still in the beta stage. If you DL it and dont like it, you can always go back to IE6.

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."
Click "Add or Remove Programs."
Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.
Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove."
Uninstall that, restart your PC and you are on IE6
